Patrick McGoohan as Longshanks in 'Braveheart'

The project in question is called "Illumination" to be directed and co-written by Phil Leirness ("Spectres").The story revolves around a medical student’s attempts to track down the infamous Dr. Royal Raymond Rife (McGoohan), who claimed to have invented a machine that could cure cancer back in the 1930s. His quest leads him into a strange world of cover-up, deception and a race against time to save the woman he loves. Although the story is fictional it’s based on true events as Rife was a real doctor, whom some say really did find a way to successfully treat cancer.The other writer on the movie is Dean Haglund, better known as an actor in "The X-Files" and "The Lone Gunmen."A high profile cast of respected actors are set to follow McGoohan and commit to the production with casting being handled by Tolly Casparis in Los Angeles.An official announcement is due to be made soon our source says, this report is unconfirmed.

News to me, but it'd be fantastic to see Patrick back on the big screen. A repeat run of The Prisoner has just ended tonight on BBC4.

That would be great. I have just watched the re-run of the Prisoner on BBC4, and wouldn't miss an episode. Patrick McGoohan is so charismatic.

Toni, the chap who sent me the info is close to the production, said he would update me. Failing that I would expect an official press release once all is locked and loaded.

I'm sorry to rain on everyones parade but Mr. McGoohan and I have been in business together for quite some time. We speak on a regular basis. In his own words about the 'news' of him starring in a new film, 'It's bullshit! This producer is just using my name to promote his film. I never agreed to it.' (the film ILLUMINATION).
