Taggart Star Alex Norton Heads for the High Seas

Star of gritty Scottish crime series "Taggart," Alex Norton, is set to join Johnny Depp on the sequel/s to "Pirates of the Caribbean."The Daily Record reports the 55-year-old actor will play Edinburgh sea captain Sam Bellamy; peaking from the set of "Taggart" in Glasgow (where M&C is based) Norton said: 'It's safe to say this is about as big as it gets.""I've only just heard that I got the part of Captain Bellamy. I'm really excited.""We then head out to the Caribbean island of St Vincent in June and July.""But there's no question of this being the end of Taggart for me."The actor also added that his children were thrilled at his forthcoming role.
