Robert Zemeckis Develops The Corrections

Robert Zemeckis ("The Polar Express") is developing the latest draft of Jonathan Franzen's National Book Award-winning "The Corrections" with an eye toward directing the film.

Variety reports "The Hours" screenwriter David Hare is writing a draft for Paramount and producer Scott Rudin. Franzen's novel revolves around the Christmas convergence of three generations of a highly dysfunctional Midwestern family. They meet at the family home for what will be the last holiday gathering there.
