Michael Douglas Races the Monsoon in India

Michael Douglas has announced he will co-produce and appear in "Racing the Monsoon."The movie will be shot in India and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Douglas is there on a scouting expedition for the adventure film, due to begin filming early next year.The film will be directed by Steve Carr and co-produced by Douglas' Further Films with leading Indian entertainment companies also involved.Douglas described "Racing the Monsoon" as a "Romancing the Stone" type adventure."I got the idea for this film after I read a short story in the Wall Street Journal about angadias (couriers) in India who travel on trains carrying diamonds. So I chose India as the backdrop for the film," he told the Hindustan Times.The actor also indicated he was in talks with actress Aishwarya Rai ("Bride and Prejudice") for the female lead and that most of the cast would be Indian. He will not play the male lead but rather one of the conspirators.
