Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount Pictures are in negotiations to co-finance "Zodiac," a thriller tracking the obsessive efforts of three people who sought to bring the infamous Zodiac killer to justice.
The serial killer is though to have murdered at least 37 people in and around San Francisco from 1966-78.
Variety reports that David Fincher is in talks to direct from a script by Jamie Vanderbilt; who is adapting Robert Graysmith's 1986 novel "Zodiac " and its sequel, "Zodiac Unmasked: The Identity of America's Most Elusive Serial Killer Revealed ."
Rather portentously the final letter from the killer to the press read:
Dear Editor This is the Zodiac speaking I am back with you. Tell herb caen I am here, I have always been here. That city pig toschi is good but I am bu [crossed out] smarter and better he will get tired then leave me alone. I am waiting for a good movie about me. Who will play me. I am now in control of all things. yours truly: [crossed circle] – guess
Though many claim it is a fake.
