Baz Luhrmann's Alexander, the Great is Back On!
By James Wray Jul 15, 2004, 3:08 GMT
Ever since it was announced that there would be two films about Alexander, the Great rumours have been flying that the second one directed by Baz Luhrmann was in doubt.
Firstly the movie was moved back a year so it would not collide with Oliver Stones title, 'Alexander', due out in November this year. Then various UK newspapers ran report that Baz did not want to commit.
However, his spokesperson said:
"Baz is currently in Europe working on the final draft of his script for Alexander the Great. When he completes that draft he will decide whether Alexander is the next film on his slate.
We do not know where these reports have originated from. They certainly did not come from Baz."
It seems the rumours speculated he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Luhrmann previous movies include Strictly Ballroom and Moulin Rouge.
