The Tripods Trilogy Is Coming To The Big Screen.

The War of the Worlds inspired epic science fiction adventure, 'The Tripods' by John Christopher is set to be brought to the big screen by Touchstone Pictures.  Gregor Jordan director of Buffalo Soldiers and Ned Kelly will adapt the novels into a 3 part film trilogy according to Variety.

The Tripods trilogy consists of 3 different novels including "The White Mountains", "The City of Gold and Lead", and "The Pool of Fire". In the mid 1980's a successful BBC TV series was also adapted from the story of 'The Tripods'. View Stills from BBC's The Tripods Here.

The year is 2089 and the Earth has been enslaved by the alien race of The Tripod's for over a century. They enforce the slavery by implanting a mind-controlling device (capps) in the heads of humans at an early age. But 3 teenage boy's before being 'capped' leave there home on a mission to help a rebellion that will try and destroy the tripods and there city.
