Brad Grey Frontrunner for Paramount Top Job

The studio has not been doing so well of late |
Grey was seen as an odd choice given he has no hands-on movie experience. However, he is said to have good business head and also has good relations with many actors and agents. This later relationship is something Paramount has missed of late and they are said to be keen to mend it. Grey's company, Brillstein-Grey, has clients such as Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Nicolas Cage and Adam Sandler.
Paramount has been suffering through a bleak period with management woes and a prolonged box-office slump, a report in the LA Times said, that its "tightfisted financial approach and cautious strategy" has alienated stars, producers and agents.
Lansing announced she was leaving late last year, though denied this was due to the studios poor performance. She had been the first woman to head a major production studio.
Viacom told reporters there were limited choices for the job in part because top outside candidates are under contract with other studios.
Officials at Paramount have made no comment on proceedings.
