Ricky Gervais to Write Simpsons Episode

The OfficeThe SimpsonsSpeaking to the UK Guardian he said that after several meetings with Matt Groening he was invited to not only guest star on the show but also write a full epsiode.Since the success of The Office Gervais has been careful of what work he accepts, turning down parts in the remake of Magnum P.I. and the sequels to Pirates of the Caribbean."I'm interested in doing something I am proud of. Money gives me the creeps," he said.Neither is he giving anything away about the plot of his Simpsons episode: "I've got the rough idea but this is the most intimidating project of my career. The Simpsons is the greatest TV show of all time. I can only make it slightly worse."It is likely the show will not air until 2006. Watch this space.
