Beckham, Zidane and Raul Sign up for Goal!

Football stars David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Raul have signed on to play themselves in three installments of Goal!, the $100 million soccer trilogy being directed by Danny Cannon.Goal! is the sStory of an upcoming Latino soccer player as he makes his way from nothing to international stardom. Goal! will be Beckham's first major part in a film and he will feature in all three parts. The movie will use Newcastle United and Real Madrid matches for the first two films. With the finale being staged at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.The filmmakers have already gained cooperation from Fifa with filming scheduled to start early next year.Mike Jefferies and Adrian Butcher wrote the script, with Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais.The first part of Goal! is due out next August. The second one will be in June 2006, just before World Cup starts up with the final part taking place during the festival itself.Watch this space for more, I wonder if Posh will also be starring...Source: Variety
