Ryan, Bening, Bullock and Thurman Could All be in The Women Remake

The remake of 1939 comedy The Women is finally making some progress. New Line Cinema is looking to distribute the film domestically and share costs with with Ascendant Pictures and Capitol Films.Diane English, who also wrote the script, will make her directorial debut. Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Sandra Bullock and Ashley Judd are in negotiations to star. Uma Thurman is being mentioned for a role as well. Filming is expected to begin in February, with Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger producing and supervising the soundtrack.Bening will play the wronged woman, while Thurman would take the Joan Crawford part of the husband-stealer. Ryan, Bullock and Judd will play characters that are a blend of some in the original.Source: Variety
