By James Wray Sep 29, 2004, 18:37 GMT
Sean Connery has pulled out of 20th Century Fox's Josiah's Canon, he was due to get $17.5 million for the part. The studio and director Brett Ratner are trying to find a replacement so that shooting in Prague in February can start as planned.
Josiah's Canon is a heist story about a Holocaust survivor who leads the world's foremost team of bank robbers. The criminal mastermind sets his sights on an seemingly impenetrable bank in Switzerland, which holds all the gold deposited by Jews before the Holocaust.
Connery spokesman said that he withdrew from the movie in order to concentrate on writing his autobiography for Harper Collins.
