Arlene Tur, the sultry cop who was featured on Starz "Crash" with Nick Tarabay, is helping to raise money and get people involved her next film, produced by Faith Films' Tony Capote.
Capote is directing and wrote “We All Want The Same Thing” and has listed the film on the crowd funding platform Kickstarter with the goal of raising funds to green light the film in Miami 2012.
Kickstarter is the largest crowd funding platform in the world that focuses on creative projects, and is a great way for artists, filmmakers, musicians, designers, writers and performers to bring their projects, events, and dreams to fruition.
Capote's film tells the story that almost every immigrant has experienced in one way or another: A diverse Latin community who strives to protect a Brazilian family from being deported from the United States. Described as at times suspenseful, humorous and inspiring, the unique tale of love and loss and the struggle for freedom will resonate with audiences.
The film is an English-language Latin focused feature set in Little Havana as the backdrop.
The film stars an emerging Latin cast that includes Cuban American Arlene Tur who has worked on the hit television series, “Grey's Anatomy”, STARZ original series "Crash”, and “Torchwood”.
Brazilian American Actor/Model Ana Carolina Da Fonseca will star in her feature film debut. Both actors are native to Miami.
The film is scheduled for shooting once all the funds have been raised. Specific release dates and markets will be announced shortly thereafter.
How it works:
Donors will have their chance to receive wonderful benefits at different levels as well as have their names listed in the end credits.
“The international demand for Hispanic films that resonate with real life stories continues to grow. A story such as the one told in We All Want The Same Thing will be tremendously well received all over the world. Kickstarter’s innovative platform makes it easy to connect with your audience and have them be a part of the journey.” said Capote.
The campaign is live on-line from June 27th-July 27th, 2012.
