EPIX scores The Avengers and Hunger Games

EPIX, the multiplatform premium entertainment service, has scored the right to be the first network to premiere the box office giants Marvel Studio’s and Paramount’s The Avengers and Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games. The two films will continue EPIX’s exclusive offering of “BIG MOVIES” to subscribers OnDemand, online at EpixHD.com, and through EPIX apps.

The Avengers had a stand out opening weekend grossing $200.3 million domestically and is on track for a strong performance globally. The Hunger Games has earned a colossal $618.0million around the world since its late-March premiere. It has grossed more than $380.0 million at the North American box office and is currently ranked 14thamong the all-time highest grossing films.
