Frances Fisher has joined the cast of Open Road Films' sci-fi film "The Host."
According to Deadline.com, Andrew Niccol is directing the big-screen adaptation of the 2008 novel by "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer.
Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, Jake Abel, Max Irons and William Hurt have been cast.
The script, which Niccol adapted, centers on the invasion and takeover of Earth by a group of aliens known as Souls.
Nick Wechsler is producing along with Meyer, Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz.
Shooting is set to begin this week in Louisiana and New Mexico with a March 29, 2013 release date set.
Fisher is best known for her roles in "Titanic" and "Unforgiven."
