Michael Fassbender will star in the Ridley Scott-directed thriller "The Counselor."
According to Deadline.com, no studio has come aboard yet to distribute.
Nick Wechsler and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz are producing with a May 1 start date being eyed.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy, who wrote the novels that were turned into films including "No Country For Old Men," "The Road" and "All The Pretty Horses," wrote the spec script.
The film centers on a lawyer (Fassbender) who sees his life spiral out of control after he gets involved in the drug trade.
Fassbender will be seen in Scott's "Prometheus" later this year.
