Michael Bay will direct the fourth installment of Paramount's popular "Transformers" franchise tentatively called "Transformers 4."
According to Variety, Paramount will release the film on June 29, 2014.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Ian Bryce are producing.
Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian are executive producing.
The third installment in the franchise, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," opened last summer and grossed $1.12 billion worldwide.
No plot details have been released and it is unknown whether any of the original cast members will return.
Before shooting "Transformers 4," Bay will next direct Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Paramount's dark comedy film "Pain and Gain."
The film centers on two Florida bodybuilders who get caught up in a kidnapping plan that turns fatal.
Production is expected to begin this spring.
