Ridley Scott will direct the thriller "The Counselor."
According to Deadline.com, Michael Fassbender's name has been mentioned as possibly starring.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy, who wrote the novels that were turned into films including "No Country For Old Men," "The Road" and "All The Pretty Horses," wrote the spec script.
Nick Wechsler and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz are producing with a May 1 start date being eyed.
The film centers on a lawyer who sees his life spiral out of control after he gets involved in the drug trade.
Fassbender will be seen in Scott's "Prometheus" later this year.
