Damian Lewis joins 'Romeo and Juliet'

Damian Lewis has joined the cast of the new "Romeo and Juliet" film.
According to Variety, Carlo Carlie ("Flight of the Innocent") will direct the latest adaptation of the William Shakespeare classic about two teenagers from feuding families who fall in love and whose tragic deaths reunite their respective families.
Oscar-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld will play Juliet.
Douglas Booth will play Romeo.
Holly Hunter, Ed Westwick, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Paul Wesley, Paul Giamatti, Tom Wisdom, Natascha McElhone, Stellan Skarsgård, Lesley Manville, Christian Cooke, Tomas Arana, Laura Morante and Leon Vitali have also been cast.
Julian Fellowes ("Gosford Park," "The Tourist") wrote the adaptation and will produce along with Garbiele Muccino, Ileen Maisel, Lawrence Elman, Simon Bosanquet, Alexander Koll, Dimitra Tsingou, Doug Mankoff and Andy Spaulding.
There have been several film incarnations of "Romeo and Juliet" including Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 version and Baz Luhrmann's 1996 version.
Lewis plays Sergeant Nicholas Brody on the critically acclaimed Showtime series "Homeland."
