Samantha Barks returns to 'Les Miserables'

Samantha Barks will reprise the role of Eponine in Universal's film version of the legendary musical "Les Miserables."
According to Variety, Barks performed the role in the London production of the show in 2010 as well as last year in the show's 25th anniversary concert at the O2 Arena.
This will be her feature film debut.
Tom Hooper ("The King's Speech") is directing.
Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Tveit and George Blagden are starring.
A December 7, 2012, release date has been set.
The musical's original producer, Cameron Mackintosh, will produce along with Working Title Films' Tim Bevan, Debra Hayward and Eric Fellner.
William Nicholson wrote the script from Victor Hugo's classic novel.
Set against the backdrop of a historically fictional 19th century French rebellion, the story centers on Jean Valjean (Jackman), an ex-convict who is pursued by the relentless Inspector Javert (Crowe).
There have been several film and TV adaptations of "Les Miserables" with the last bigscreen version being the 1998 film that starred Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush and Uma Thurman.
