By Adnan Tezer Jan 31, 2012, 20:17 GMT
Relativity has picked up the long-gestating "Stretch Armstrong" project.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project had been set up at Universal with Taylor Lautner attached to star and Rob Letterman ("Gulliver's Travels," "Monsters vs. Aliens") directing.
Neither Lautner nor Letterman will be involved in the Relativity version.
The film is based on the popular Hasbro action figure from the 1970s that was only 13 inches tall, but was able to stretch nearly four feet.
Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh is producing along with Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir for Hasbro.
No lead actor or director has been mentioned yet.
An April 11, 2014, release date has been set.
