Paul Giamatti boards 'Romeo and Juliet'

Paul Giamatti has joined the cast of the new "Romeo and Juliet" film.
According to Variety, Carlo Carlie ("Flight of the Innocent") will direct the latest adaptation of the William Shakespeare classic about two teenagers from feuding families who fall in love and whose tragic deaths reunite their respective families.
Oscar-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld will play Juliet.
Douglas Booth will play Romeo.
Holly Hunter, Ed Westwick, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Paul Wesley have also been cast.
Julian Fellowes ("Gosford Park," "The Tourist") wrote the adaptation and will produce along with Garbiele Muccino, Ileen Maisel and Mark Ordesky.
The $15 million film shoots in Italy this month.
There have been several film incarnations of "Romeo and Juliet" including Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 version and Baz Luhrmann's 1996 version.
Giamatti was last seen in "The Ides of March."
