Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds will star in "Big Eyes," a biopic of 1960s artists Margaret and Walter Keane.
According to Variety, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski are writing and directing.
Tim Burton is producing through his Tim Burton Productions, along with Lynette Howell and Jamie Patricof through Electric City Entertainment.
Production will begin this spring.
Based on the real-life story of Margaret and Walter Keane's paintings, characterized by large-eyed women and children, that became pop culture sensations in the 1960s. It was later revealed that Margaret was the real creator of the paintings while Walter, who sold the art under his name, stole the credit.
Witherspoon will be seen in the upcoming "This Means War," opposite Chris Pine and Tom Hardy.
Reynolds will be seen in the upcoming "Safe House," opposite Denzel Washington.
