'Underworld' takes weekend box office

Sony-Screen Gems' 3D "Underworld: Awakening" won the domestic box office over the weekend as it debuted with $25.4 million.
According to Variety, the film is the fourth installment of Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment's "Underworld" franchise.
Fox's "Red Tails" debuted in the No. 2 spot with $19.1 million.
Universal's "Contraband" placed No. 3 with $12.2 million for a domestic cumulative of $46.1 million.
Warner Bros.' "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" came in at No. 4 with $10.5 million for a domestic cumulative of $11.2 million.
Relativity Media's "Haywire" debuted in the No. 5 spot with $9 million.
