Isabelle Fuhrman is in talks to join the cast of Sony Pictures and Overbrook Entertainment's sci-fi film "After Earth," to be directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
According to Variety, the film had been previously titled "1000 A.E."
Will and Jaden Smith are starring in the film along with Sophie Okonedo and Zoë Kravitz.
Shyamalan rewrote the original script by Gary Whitta with Stephen Gaghan performing an additional polish.
Production is scheduled to begin in March with a release date in June 2013 being eyed.
Set 1,000 years into the future, the sci-fi film centers on an estranged father (Will Smith) and son (Jaden Smith) who must navigate through a dangerous and abandoned earth after their ship crashes.
Shyamalan is producing along with Will Smith and his Overbrook partners Ken Stovitz, Jada Pinkett Smith and James Lassiter.
Fuhrman is generating buzz for her role in the highly anticipated "Hunger Games," which opens in March.
