McCarthy-Miller boards 'Tammy'
By Adnan Tezer Jan 10, 2012, 20:26 GMT
Veteran TV director Beth McCarthy-Miller will direct New Line's Melissa McCarthy comedy "Tammy."
According to Variety, the two are not related.
Melissa McCarthy ("Bridesmaids," "Mike & Molly") and her husband, Ben Falcone, wrote the script.
The story centers on a woman (McCarthy) who loses her job at the fast-food restaurant Hardee's, discovers her husband is having an affair, and goes on a road trip with her acid-tongued grandmother.
McCarthy and Falcone will executive produce.
McCarthy-Miller, who will make her feature directorial debut on the film, has directed over two hundred episodes of "Saturday Night Live," as well as episodes of "Modern Family" and "30 Rock."
