By Adnan Tezer Jan 6, 2012, 22:34 GMT
Liam Hemsworth will star in Mandeville Films' heist film "Empire State."
According to Deadline.com, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is also in talks to join the film.
Mandeville's David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing.
Dito Montiel ("A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints," "Fighting," "The Son Of No One") is directing.
The script by Adam Mazer ("Breach," "You Don’t Know Jack") focuses on the December 12, 1982 heist of $11.4 million from the headquarters of The Sentry Armored Car Company in New York City.
It was the biggest cash theft in U.S. history at the time. Authorities later said that a considerable amount of the money had been stolen over time by insiders.
Shooting is set to begin in April.
Hemsworth will be seen in "The Hunger Games" and "The Expendables 2" later this year.
