Stockholm - Strong sales of an autobiography by Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has fuelled interest in a possible movie based on the book, Stockholm daily Dagens Nyheter said Friday.
'There is incredible interest to film it,' co-author David Lagercrantz told the daily.
The book has sold about 500,000 copies in Sweden since its release in November and has been published in Norway as well as Italy, where Ibrahimovic plays for AC Milan.
Lagercrantz said he and Ibrahimovic were carefully looking at various offers. Both of them share the copyright to the book, but he could not state when the film would be made.
'Zlatan is very interested in films so I am sure it will happen,' Lagercrantz said.
No actors have been proposed but the newspaper mentioned Swedish actors Fares Fares or Hamadi Khemiri as possibilities.
The book, titled I am Zlatan Ibrahimovic, depicts his career and tough childhood in the southern city of Malmo.
It also details some of the controversies he has been involved in at various clubs, not the least at Barcelona where he had poor relations with coach Josep 'Pep' Guardiola.
