Kyle Chandler boards 'Broken City'

Kyle Chandler has joined the cast of the Twentieth Century Fox political thriller "Broken City."
According to Variety, Allen Hughes is directing from a Brian Tucker script.
Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alona Tal, Natalie Martinez, Barry Pepper, James Ransone, Justin Chambers, Griffin Dunne and Jeffrey Wright have also been cast.
Wahlberg, Hughes, Randall Emmett, George Furla and Stephen Levinson are producing.
The film centers on an ex-cop (Wahlberg) who is hired by the mayor (Crowe) to investigate whether his wife (Zeta-Jones) is having an affair. When the affair is confirmed and the wife's lover turns up dead, a larger scandal is uncovered.
Production is underway in New York with a January 18, 2013, release date set.
Chandler is best known for his role as Coach Eric Taylor on the television series "Friday Night Lights."
He was last seen in J.J. Abrams' "Super 8."
