'Titanic 3D' gets an equally Titanic movie trailer & poster!

Paramount Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment jointly announced today that James Cameron’s “TITANIC” will be re-released worldwide on April 6, 2012. James Cameron has premiered a first poster and movie trailer for the 3D re-release of "Titanic." The film's release in April will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic, the most deadly peacetime maritime disaster in history.

"Titanic" held the crown as the highest grossing film of all time from 1998 to 2010, when it was knocked off it's perch by another James Cameron film, "Avatar."

"Titanic" is the latest in a wave of 3D conversions on movies hits of the past. Next year will see "Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace," alongside Disney duo "Beauty and the Beast" and "Finding Nemo" also getting 3D theatrical releases.

"Titanic 3D" is released on 3D and 3D IMAX screens across the US and UK from April 6th, 2012.

James Cameron spoke earlier this year about the "Titanic 3D" release;

"There's a whole generation that's never seen 'Titanic' as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen. And this will be 'Titanic' as you've never seen it before, digitally re-mastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike."

"Titanic" grossed over $1.8 billion at the worldwide box office and starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Kates Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Bernard Hill, Frances Fisher, Gloria Stewart and Bill Paxton.
