Universal's 'Untitled Werewolf Thriller' begins production

Universal's "Untitled Werewolf Thriller" begins principal photography in and around Bucharest, Romania today.

The film is the latest in the hugely successful DVD Originals™ line from Universal 1440 Entertainment, a production entity of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

The cast includes Stephen Rea ("V for Vendetta," "The Crying Game"), Steven Bauer ("Scarface," "Primal Fear"), Ed Quinn ("True Blood," "Eureka"), Nia Peeples ("Pretty Little Liars," "Walker Texas, Ranger"), Guy Wilson ("Almost Kings," "Little Black Book"), Adam Croasdell ("Supernatural," "East Enders") and Rachel DiPillo ("Law & Order," "The Gates").

Louis Morneau ("Joy Ride II," "Hitcher II: I've Been Waiting") directs from a script he co-wrote with his writing partner Catherine Cyran and Michael Tabb.

Mike Elliott ("The Devils Rejects," "Smokin' Aces 2") produces.

During his studies with the local doctor (Stephen Rea) in a 19th Century European village, Daniel (Guy Wilson) witnesses the aftermath of several brutal werewolf attacks.

As the attacks bring notoriety to the village, Daniel dreams of being the one to destroy the beast.

He joins a mysterious stranger (Ed Quinn) and his team of skilled werewolf hunters (Steven Bauer, Adam Croasdell) that have arrived to pursue the werewolf.

As the body count rises, it is quickly apparent that the monster is unlike anything they have ever encountered before.

"Untitled Werewolf Thriller" will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, Digital Download and On Demand around Halloween 2012.
