Warners to release 'Magic Mike' in summer 2012

Warner Bros. will open the independent drama "Magic Mike" on June 29, 2012.
According to Variety, Steven Soderbergh is directing from a Reid Carolin script.
Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matthew Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Riley Keough, Cody Horn, Olivia Munn, Gabriel Iglesias, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Betsy Brandt have been cast.
The story revolves around the title character Magic Mike (Tatum), a stripper and dancer who mentors another stripper (Pettyfer).
The script is based on Tatum's experiences as a male stripper when he was 19.
Nick Wechsler and Gregory Jacobs are producing with Tatum and Carolin through their 33andOut Productions.
Warner Bros. distributed Soderbergh's last film "Contagion."
