John Ortiz to learn 'Silver Linings Playbook'

John Ortiz has joined the cast of The Weinstein Company's romantic comedy "The Silver Linings Playbook."
According to Variety, David O. Russell ("The Fighter") is directing from his adaptation of Matthew Quick's novel of the same name.
Harvey Weinstein is producing.
The cast includes Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Jennifer Lawrence, Jacki Weaver, Chris Tucker and Julia Stiles.
The story centers on a former high school teacher (Cooper) who is released from a mental institution into his mother's care after a bout with depression. He sets out to win his ex-wife's affections back and becomes involved with a troubled neighbor (Lawrence).
Ortiz's recent credits include "Jack Goes Boating," "Public Enemies" and "Fast & Furious."
