Twentieth Century Fox's fifth installment of the "Die Hard" franchise, "A Good Day to Die Hard," will open on February 14, 2013.
According to Variety, Bruce Willis will reprise his iconic role of New York City police detective John McClane.
Skip Woods wrote the script with John Moore directing.
The newest installment involves McClane and his estranged son, Jack, as they are caught up in the prison escape of a rogue Russian leader overseas.
Several directors, including Justin Lin, Nicolas Refn, Joe Cornish and Noam Murro, had been in contention for the project.
Moore's directing credits, all for Fox, include "Max Payne," "The Omen," "Flight of the Phoenix" and "Behind Enemy Lines."
The last installment of the "Die Hard" franchise, 2007's "Live Free or Die Hard," grossed over $380 million worldwide.
