Susan Sarandon boards 'Snitch'
By Adnan Tezer Sep 29, 2011, 18:30 GMT
Susan Sarandon is in talks to join Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Exclusive Media's action thriller "Snitch."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ric Roman Waugh ("Felon") is directing and rewriting an original script by Justin Haythe.
Nigel Sinclair, Guy East, Alex Brunner, David Fanning, Gordon Gray and Johnson are producing.
The story centers on a father (Johnson) whose teenage son is sentenced to 30 years under mandatory minimum drug laws. In order to have his son's sentence reduced, the father goes undercover to rat out a powerful drug dealer.
The story was inspired by a PBS "Frontline" documentary detailing recent shifts in U.S. drug laws toward federal mandatory sentencing minimums and how these shifts had, in turn, forced the guilty to snitch on others.
Sarandon was last seen on the big screen in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps."
