Nick Nolte heading for 'Gangster Squad'

Nick Nolte has joined the cast of Warner Bros.' 1940s cop movie "The Gangster Squad."
According to Variety, Ruben Fleischer ("Zombieland") will direct.
Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Anthony Mackie, Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi, Holt McCallany, Emma Stone, Robert Patrick and Mireille Enos have been cast.
"Gangster Squad" is based on a seven-part Los Angeles Times article written by Paul Lieberman that details how, during 1940s corruption and chaos, the LAPD created a special unit called the Gangster Squad to prevent the East Coast mafia from infecting the city.
Dan Lin and Kevin McCormick are producing with shooting set to begin September 7th in Los Angeles.
Former LAPD officer Will Beall wrote the screenplay.
Nolte will be seen in the upcoming film "Warrior."
