James Hong boards 'R.I.P.D.'

James Hong has joined the cast of Universal's adaptation of the Dark Horse comic "R.I.P.D." starring Ryan Reynolds.
According to Variety, Robert Schwentke is directing.
The supernatural action comedy is being produced by Neil H. Moritz, Mike Richardson, Reynolds and Jonathon Komack Martin.
The cast includes Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Stephanie Szostak, Mary-Louise Parker and Marisa Miller.
Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi wrote the script based on Peter Lenkov's comic.
The story centers on a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department (RIPD), a police force comprised of ghosts that battles spirits unwilling to depart the world.
The veteran actor Hong has over 350 film and television credits to his name including "Chinatown," "Blade Runner" and "Big Trouble in Little China."
He appears in the upcoming Jason Statham action film "Safe."
