Stephanie Szostak is in final talks to join Ryan Reynolds in Universal's adaptation of the Dark Horse comic "R.I.P.D."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robert Schwentke is directing.
The supernatural action comedy is being produced by Neil H. Moritz, Mike Richardson, Ryan Reynolds and Jonathon Komack Martin.
Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi wrote the script based on Peter Lenkov's comic.
The story centers on a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department (RIPD), a police force comprised of ghosts that battles spirits unwilling to depart the world.
Szostak would play the wife of Reynolds' character.
Jeff Bridges has been cast as Reynolds' wise-cracking ghost partner.
Kevin Bacon will play the villain.
Szostak will be seen opposite Matt Damon in Cameron Crowe's "We Bought a Zoo."
