Warner Bros. gives 'J. Edgar' a date

Warner Bros. has set a November 9 opening for Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar Hoover biopic "J. Edgar," with Leonardo DiCaprio playing the title role.
According to Variety, the film will open on a Wednesday in limited release then role out wide Friday November 11.
Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black ("Milk") wrote the script.
The cast includes Naomi Watts, Ed Westwick, Damon Herriman, Armie Hammer, Josh Lucas, Ken Howard, Stephen Root and Jeffrey Donovan.
Hoover was appointed director of the Bureau of Investigation in 1924 and later was the head of the FBI when it was founded 11 years later.
Brian Grazer and Ron Howard produced through Imagine Entertainment along with Eastwood and Rob Lorenz through their Warner-based Malpaso production shingle.
