According to Variety, Warners and Paramount co-produced the film.

Scott Rudin produced.
Eric Roth wrote the adaptation with Stephen Daldry ("The Hours," "The Reader") directing.
The cast also includes newcomer Thomas Horn, John Goodman, Viola Davis, James Gandolfini, Jeffrey Wright and Max von Sydow.
"Extremely Loud" focuses on a 10-year-old boy, Oskar who finds a key in a vase that belonged to his father, who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and searches to find the lock-box that goes with it. He encounters several people along the way who are dealing with their own grief in connection with the attacks.
