Laurence Fishburne joins 'Man of Steel'

Laurence Fishburne has joined the cast of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' Superman reboot "Man of Steel."
According to Variety, the film will open June 14, 2013.
The cast includes Henry Cavill as Superman as well as Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Antje Traue, Julia Ormond, Russell Crowe, Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix.
Fishburne will play The Daily Planet editor Perry White.
Zack Snyder ("300," "Watchmen," "Sucker Punch") is directing with shooting set to begin later this summer.
Christopher Nolan will produce with wife Emma Thomas, as well as Charles Roven ("The Dark Knight") and Deborah Snyder ("Watchmen," "Sucker Punch").
David S. Goyer ("Batman Begins") wrote the script, based on a story he conceived with Nolan.
Plot details are being kept under wraps.
Fishburne starred in the previous three seasons of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and will be seen in Steven Soderbergh's upcoming "Contagion."
