'Cowboys' edges 'Smurfs' for box office bragging rights

Universal's "Cowboys & Aliens" narrowly edged out Sony's "The Smurfs" for the weekend box office crown.
According to Variety, "Cowboys & Aliens" finished with $36.4 million after final numbers were tallied today.
"The Smurfs" finished with $35.6 million.
Paramount's "Captain America: The First Avenger" placed No. 3 with $24.9 million for a domestic cumulative of $116.8 million.
Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" came in at No. 4 with $21.9 million for a domestic cumulative of $318.5 million.
The film crossed the global $1 billion mark in just 19 days as its international cumulative stands at $690 million. It is now the highest grossing film in the series.
Warner Bros.' romantic comedy "Crazy Stupid Love" opened in the No. 5 spot with $19.3 million.
