Nicolas Cage and John Cusack will star in the real-life thriller about serial killer Robert Hansen titled "The Frozen Ground."
According to Variety, Scott Walker will make his feature directorial debut from his own script.
Randall Emmett and George Furla are producing through their Emmett Furla Films along with Amber Entertainment's Mark Ordesky and Jane Fleming.
Cusack would play Hansen, a respected family man, who kidnapped two dozen women and set them loose in the Alaskan wilderness where he hunted and killed as many as 21 of them.
Cage would play the Alaskan State Trooper who tracks down Hansen after partnering with one of Hansen's would-be victims.
Hansen was eventually arrested in 1983 and charged with four murders.
As part of his plea bargain, he agreed to show the police where the graves of the murdered women were. He is currently serving a 461 year prison sentence at Spring Creek Correctional Center in Alaska.
Shooting will start October 10 in Anchorage.
Cage will be seen opposite Nicole Kidman in the upcoming thriller "Trespass."
Cusack will be seen next as Edgar Allen Poe in "The Raven."
