Cohen to go 'Beyond the Pines'

Emory Cohen has joined the cast of the crime thriller "The Place Beyond the Pines," opposite Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper.
According to Variety, Gosling's "Blue Valentine" writer-director Derek Cianfrance is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ben Coccio.
Sidney Kimmel, Lynette Howell, Alex Orlovsky and Jamie Patricof are producing.
Howell, Orlovsky and Patricof also produced "Blue Valentine."
The cast also includes Eva Mendes, Greta Gerwig, Ben Mendelsohn, Ray Liotta, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Gabe Fazio and Dane DeHaan.
The film centers on a professional motorcycle rider (Gosling) who has to turn to crime to support his young son and ends up crossing paths with a rookie cop (Cooper).
Production is expected to begin July 25 in Schenectady, N.Y.
Cohen plays Debra Messing's son in the upcoming NBC series "Smash."
