'Harry Potter' rewrites the box office record books over the weekend

Warner Bros.' "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" shattered every major box office record as the last installment of the franchise debuted over the weekend.
According to Variety, the film opened to a record $475.6 million worldwide haul.
Internationally, the film grossed $307 million with the domestic total checking in at $168.6 million. Both are new records.
Paramount's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" came in at No. 2 with $21.2 million for a domestic cumulative of $302.8 million.
Warner Bros.' "Horrible Bosses" placed No. 3 with $17.6 million for a domestic cumulative of $60 million.
Sony's "Zookeeper" came in at No. 4 with $12.3 million for a domestic cumulative of $42.4 million
Disney's "Cars 2" placed No. 5 with $8.3 million for a domestic cumulative of $165.3 million.
