Melanie Laurent is in talks to play the female lead in Summit Entertainment's magician-heist film "Now You See Me."
According to Variety, Louis Leterrier ("Clash of the Titans") will direct.
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing through their K/O Paper Products shingle.
The film focuses on an expert FBI squad trying to close in on a group of the world's greatest illusionists, who pull off a series of bank heists during their live performances and shower the bank money on their audiences.
Jesse Eisenberg will play one of the leads with Jake Gyllenhaal having been offered the other lead. Gyllenhaal eventually passed.
Boaz Yakin and Edward Ricourt wrote the script.
Yakin will executive produce along with K/O Paper Products' Bobby Cohen.
Laurent is best known for her role in "Inglourious Basterds" and can be currently seen in Focus Features' "Beginners" with Ewan McGregor and Christopher Plummer.
