Ian McShane has been cast as the lead dwarf in Universal's Snow White film "Snow White and the Huntsman"

In the retelling of the classic Grimm fairy tale, the huntsman (who originally is supposed to kill Snow White but ends up letting her go) becomes her protector as they try to escape from the evil queen who wants Snow White dead.
Kristen Stewart is set to play Snow White with Chris Hemsworth playing the huntsman.
Charlize Theron will play the evil queen. Sam Claflin will play the prince and love interest of Snow White.
Production begins in August with a June 1, 2012 release set.
A rival Snow White film set up at Relativity is also gearing up for production with Tarsem Singh directing Julia Roberts as the evil queen, Lily Collins as Snow White and Armie Hammer as the prince.
McShane can be currently seen in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."
