First look at new 'John Carter' movie poster

The teaser poster for Walt Disney Picture live action sci-fi epic "John Carter" is now online. Originally titled "John Carter of Mars," the film is based on the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs "Barsoom" series of novels.

"John Carter" is the first live action movie from director Andrew Stanton, whose previous directorial assignments have included Pixar's "WALL·E," "Finding Nemo" and "A Bug's Life."

The title role of "John Carter" is played by Canadian actor Taylor Kitsch. The movie will also star Lynn Collins, Samantha Morton, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, James Purefoy, Daryl Sabara, Polly Walker, Bryan Cranston, Thomas Haden Church, Willem Dafoe, Jonathan Hyde and Don Stark.
