Darren Aronofsky is attached to direct New Regency's re-imagining of the Noah's ark story titled "Noah."
According to Variety, Arnon Milchan is producing for New Regency.
Noah's Ark is the ship that, according to the Book of Genesis, was built by Noah at God's order to save himself, his family, and the world's animals from the Great Flood.
No studio is attached yet and no actors have been mentioned.
Aronofsky wrote the first draft of the script with John Logan ("Any Given Sunday," "Gladiator" and "Hugo Cabret") doing a rewrite.
Aronofsky was set to direct Fox's "Wolverine" with Hugh Jackman but dropped out of the project in March.
His last film was the critical and commercial success "Black Swan," which earned star Natalie Portman a Best Actress Oscar.
His other credits include "Pi," "Requiem for a Dream," "The Fountain" and "The Wrestler."
