Fuqua close to Eminem's 'Southpaw'

Antoine Fuqua is close to signing on as the director of the Eminem boxing film "Southpaw" set up at DreamWorks.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this would be Eminem's first film since the critically acclaimed "8 Mile."
Written by Kurt Sutter, the film centers on a former welterweight champ (Eminem) who reclaims his past glory after a tragedy.
Sutter is producing along with Alan and Peter Riche.
Stuart Parr, Paul Rosenberg and Peter Schiff are executive producing.
Fuqua is best known for directing "The Replacement Killers," "Training Day," "Tears of the Sun" and "Brooklyn's Finest."
